The Avengers (2012)

Yesterday was THE day that I saw The Avengers... I'm still riding the wave of the afterglow and I don't want it to end.                                                                            IT. WAS. AWESOME!!! That's all I'm going to say because no more words are needed to describe how good it was. The long wait was so worth it.
Though with great sadness I have to admit the fact that I have been turned into a squealing FANGIRL ... Symptoms include screaming, starry-eyes and Internet history filled with fan-art. It will happen to all of you so be very aware.

I have to admit that I'm Team Loki. How can I not be when he reminds me of myself. Maybe we'll work together someday and take over the world.

The David 8

I just had to write about it, it simply needs to be spread. I first saw it a few days ago and it captivated me in every sense of the word. The David 8 is viral introducing the robot named David in the upcoming Prometheus. A movie I myself can't wait to see.

But what lured me into watching this clip was the talented Michael Fassbender. I'm not even going to deny the fact that I think he's a genius. He keeps surprising me with every role he takes on and he possesses that special something that makes me want to stay in the business. So when I saw him in The David 8 I once again found proof of his wide and versatile range of acting skills. He's the kind of actor who gives all the aspiring directors and screenwriters out there hope that Hollywood isn't being over taken by bullshit and there is still a reason to make movies.

Even though David creeps me out a little. I keep imagining this futuristic world where robots are everywhere and there are a lot of David look-a-likes running around. I definitely wouldn't mind having one at home...

The Cabin in the Woods

I'm probably one of the worst cinema goers out there. It's a miracle when I manage to pay the local cinema a visit more than three times a year. But occasionally I give myself a solemn promise to make the trip to the movies. So a few days ago I found myself eating nachos beside Benni whilst watching a horror movie.

I can't say it was my usual cup of tea but I had a good feeling about The Cabin in the Woods. And it did not disappoint. It was probably one of the weirdest horror movies I've seen in a long time, but there was just something fascinating about it. I usually hate clichés but this time they worked and the gore and general creepiness was spiced up with humor.
The characters were straight out of a prom movie: The jock, the slutty blonde, the virgin, the nerd and the pothead. You either rooted for them or wished that the dead hillbilly zombie with an axe could hurry the fuck up. I cheered for the weed-smoking Marty, simply because he understood the basics. 1) Don't go down to the basement. 2) Don't read Latin from a century an old diary. 3) Don't touch other people stuff. Nothing good will come from it.

So even though the blood is flowing and zombies are running around, The Cabin in the Woods can be considered a horror/ thriller / comedy.  It was a nightmare inside of a nightmare and then covered with more nightmares. When we left I had this 'did this just happen' face and it puzzled me all day. Still does...

Challenge accepted

We said that we weren't posting again, that this is it and there will be no more. Well even though it was said I for one will not be keeping that promise...

Benni and I decided to part ways and she started her own blog, therefore I took a step in the dark and decided to do the same.
I'm taking over Frank & Benni ... ( insert evil laugh here)

If I were to make a cheesy soap opera analogy, it would be something in the lines of this-I got the custody of our brainchild whilst Benni has visitation rights. ( Benni will probably be rolling her eyes when she reads this!)
But I will take good care of it and I hope our trusty minions will still come around.
I'm stripping the blog down to its core. There will be a new name and I will be broadening the specter so to speak. So there will be more than just movies here.
Right now things are hectic and there isn't much time, but I will start posting soon.

All in good time as they say...
